1310171 2012-11-03 00:52:00 Is it possible to set up a home network ? I have several wifi devices (2 laptops, 1 running XP, the other Win7, and an ipad) and a desktop and currently all my files etc are stored on my desktop but it would be handy to be able to access them via the other devices.

Is this the home network option in windows 7 ? im guessing security is a potential risk also ?

Any tips or pointers would be most welcome, cheers

1310172 2012-11-03 00:56:00 If all of them are wireless give them passwords (dont use WEP), and connect them to the modem / router. Just share a folder on the desktop. Disable password protected sharing on the desktop. I wouldnt share the whole hdd tho

I'm networking 2 desktops at the mo. Win7 and Vista, and also use a smartphone (for the wireless). And the Xbox. The printer is also on the network (a wireless printer).
