1285816 2012-07-04 00:12:00 Suprised nobodies mentioned the goings on in Mosgiel. I was suprised that yesterday they gave out the names of the guys (I already knew way before it was on the news).

Two teenage boys have been rushed to hospital with serious burns after a house fire in Dunedin.
The boys were reportedly huffing from a gas canister which set off an explosion at their Mosgiel house.
Firefighters rushed to the scene, and found one of the boys with burns to the inside of his throat.

Trevor Tilyard, assistant Area commander for East Otago says the pair were huffing from two nine kilogram LPG cannisters, but it is two early to tell what ignited the gas.
“It was five degrees at Mosgiel at 2 o’clock so it could have been a heating appliance, or any number of things in the house – if there was gas floating around in the house it could find pretty easily a lot of ignition sources,” says Mr Tilyard.
The explosion damaged walls, moved the home's roof and blew glass onto the road.
The incident follows the recent death of a 12-year-old boy who died in a Christchurch car park after huffing with friends, and Mr Tilyard says the practice is becoming an alarming problem.
“The obviously don’t understand the dangers of doing it, we’ve had four or five incidents of this, either huffing inside cars or inside buildings, [for example] the young fellow that died in Christchurch recently, so it’s an extremely dangerous practice,” he says.

I honestly don't feel sorry for them, and one of them was actually a friend for a short while when I was back in Primary School. When will people realise that huffing LPG and other types of stuff is stupid??

1285818 2012-07-04 01:13:00 We had a thing in the paper the other day about a guy here who was banned from all petrol stations and we were warned not to give him any petrol because he sniffed it and drank :yuck: it. The silly sods never supplied a photo of him though.:illogical mikebartnz (21)

Instead, we waste thousands of taxpayer dollars on hospital services for these cretins that could be otherwise spent on Treaty Settlements!!

1285821 2012-07-04 01:57:00 3 News named the two, So I'll include the names for descriptive purposes. One of them, named Jamie Jury from what my younger sister has heard on facebook from various sources is that He has lost his nose and at least one ear, and is in the most serious of the 2. Brendan, who was the other one (and the one who I was once friends with) is up in auckland and is in a stable condition.

I also got my mum to drive past the house so I could see if for myself, and god, it looks pretty bad. I feel bad for the owner of the house (Father of jury), who is having to fix it.
