1286984 2012-07-09 00:31:00 The Toshiba has twice as much ram and hard drive as the mac but it is soooo slow that I will probably have to reformat it as all the so called 'tools' that I have to run regularly just don't do anything. No one here has convinced me that a windows machine is better and I have worked out that I am getting better value.

Install Linux on it.

1286985 2012-07-09 01:04:00 Quite a few people who bought Macs because they look good, expensive (expensive must be good!?). But soon they regretted and changed the OS to Windows, and still regretted! LOL
That doesn't mean anything unless you can back it up somehow which you haven't done.

1286986 2012-07-09 02:11:00 I think one reason they appear so popular is because there is only one. If someone buys a windows PC there are a million to choose from, It's a mac book air/pro or iMac not sure if they still do the cases. I don't think they are any more or less popular than the other it's just they appear popular. The Error Guy (14052)

Well, well, it doesn't matter whether it means anything to you or not, that's my experience; met a few of those Mac owners and that's what I was told.

It's short and clear.

1286988 2012-07-09 03:34:00 I don't find Macbooks very nice to use, but every man & his dog seems to be buying one

With a market share of 9%, it's hardly every man and his dog.
I have never bought a mac nor an i anything either.

The biggest hassle we have also at work, is setting people up for the domain email on Mac mail. It always seems to be a problem...........

Mac Pro. They don't make Xservers any more.

1286990 2012-07-09 07:24:00 Never seen that before? Is that one of their apple servers? That's my whole point, you comment on it saying it doesn't have it, when it does. You said the same thing a while ago about the MacBook air comparing it to your mates ultra book being better because it had an i7 in it when that's available in the air as well...... plod (107)

1286992 2012-07-27 12:44:00 I actually know a mobile operator company that has macs in the office but run windows (not remember exactly it was XP or 7) I have never owned mac and think that its just a matter of good marketing and being stylish and also macs are mostly choice for those who use computers for facebook and doesn't really care what else could be done on it. chumscrubber (16416)
1286993 2012-07-27 14:43:00 People use Mac's?

We have an eMac sitting on the floor doing nothing. I tried to install OS9 on it, but nope, it didn't like that I burnt the disc on a PC, so I gave up.

My dad has a PowerMacG5 as his main system, using my old PC ram, speakers, monitor, speaker cord etc... He is always asking how to do stuff. It's a peice of crap. The only thing I use it for is when i'm scanning stuff, as I can't be bothered to bring my laptop into the lounge and hook the printer up to it.
