1309592 2012-10-31 03:13:00 I'd still personally save on the motherboard and CPU cooler, as well as potentially the sound card (What don't you like about onboard?), and get a better / cheaper PSU too, potentially ditch the Bluray (You're gonna *really* watch them on your PC?) and look at getting a screen, OS, keyboard, mouse, speakers, headphones etc Chilling_Silence (9)
1309593 2012-10-31 03:15:00 Chill could you give me specific parts? I'm sort of new to this as you have already found out. stratex5 (16685)
1309594 2012-10-31 03:30:00 IF you're going 3d I would get a sli or crossfire gpu setup. Running games in 3d cuts your framerate down and a 120hz monitor lets you see 120fps so why not make the most of it instead of it looking like crap. 7950's or 670's > 1 680 imo.

Also what speakers/headphones are you using? No point in a fancy soundcard if you dont have anything to use it with.

1309595 2012-10-31 03:35:00 Well this is the base for my system, I will eventually upgrade to 2 680's and yeah ill ditch the sound card. stratex5 (16685)
1309596 2012-10-31 03:52:00 Just noticed you were about to drop 1k on a 1080p monitor. Dont do it. Have a read here for and idea of what good value is: www.gpforums.co.nz

If you really must buy a <generic brand here> monitor buy a Dell or Apple IPS (they use the same LG S-IPS panel from memory). Widely regarded as some of the best monitors money can buy.

1309597 2012-10-31 04:01:00 Stratex you seem to be going along picking about the dearest parts possible - have a proper read of some of the advice in this thread before you waste a few grand. wratterus (105)
1309598 2012-10-31 06:14:00 I kind of have to agree. I would pick your graphics cards first and build around those, maybe. 8ftmetalhaed (14526)
1309599 2012-10-31 07:31:00 Well yeah, I am looking for quite expensive parts, but right now I want to focus on just the PC and no Accessories. stratex5 (16685)
1309600 2012-10-31 08:13:00 Expensive =/= best. icow (15313)
1309601 2012-10-31 09:17:00 Well yeah, I am looking for quite expensive parts, but right now I want to focus on just the PC and no Accessories.

Look at the picture in my post, has everything you'd need.... If you're not after peripherals, look at adding a second GPU.
