| 1309584 | 2012-10-31 02:13:00 | Yes I will use this for gaming so what sort of GPU should i look for? And with the mobo what is the difference with ATX and EATX? | stratex5 (16685) | ||
| 1309585 | 2012-10-31 02:25:00 | Look at the Computerlounge pre-built configurations. No offense intended, but if you have to ask these questions, you're better off getting someone who is up with the play with the latest hardware etc to put together a PC for you. If you call CL and say I want X X X and X and I've got $3500 to spend they will be more than happy to help you out with a quote. Their service is second to none. |

| 1309587 | 2012-10-31 02:42:00 | I priced one up on part picker but it screwed up and I lost it so; for less than $3500 start with something like; Asus Z77 MB (whicever has the features you want for the price you like) i5 3570K (seriously an i7 for gaming is a waste of money but i7 3770K if you must) Cooler Master Hyper 212 evo CPU cooler or similar - i5's are only 77W at stock these coolers handle them easily at quite good overclocks 8-16 GB of DDR3 dual channel RAM (8 is plenty) a Samsung 830 series 256 or 512 GB SSD (256 fits a lot, 512 if you think it's worthwhile but you don't need it) WD Blue 1 or 2TB data drive for storage space Asus GTX 680 (ATI cards are better value right now but me I prefer Nvidia) corsair 850W modular PSU whatever case you like - make sure it has room for the 680 This will be a beast of a gaming rig, if you plan on dual or tri screen gaming then maybe consider an SLI setup but otherwise I'd stay away from the unecessary complexity. |
