1286956 2012-07-08 09:24:00 Macs are every bit as good as dells.

And given the choice I wouldn't have either.

1286957 2012-07-08 09:24:00 The only real reason imo people buy i-anything is that Apple have a brilliant marketing team. inphinity (7274)
1286958 2012-07-08 09:51:00 Don't forget the legal team backing up the marketers. Speaking ill of Apples if you own one is forbidden under the terms of - - - - -.
(Lucky SWMBO is out of the country, she is a serial Appleista.)

I-pod's excluded I presume?
The iPod touch is a great way to get a really high res screen and lots of apps for cheap.
The iPod shuffle...yea, its crap
The iPod classic is a pretty good way of getting lots of storage.
And, the iPod nano before its touchscreen remodel was alright, although now its rubbish.

1286960 2012-07-08 10:00:00 I bought one a few years back after all the hype about how superior for music it was.... I simply couldn't see or more importantly hear the difference...
and believe me, when you spend that kind of coin you hope it works well, fortunately the resale factor came into play and still got a fairly decent price and got me a pretty awesome set up for the same price and went back to PC. Most of PC issues are user related in my eyes.I thought you decided against the mac a couple of years ago when you were asking about it

Maybe for a enthusiast but when you go corporate for that work computer, they probably not going to use that sort of stuff, PC or Mac.

And re: the phones. I don't have an android but .. yes the iPhones cost a fair bit but so does some androids, it might be true that the iPhone is not as well spec'ed but it is a phone to consume media. Most people probably could do with a $500 or a $1,000 phone but have personal preferences. And I don't know how true but there is a camp that if you are not a technie type you may be happy with a iPhone or just get a Android and use whatever app that is provided at sale and just download Skype and that ASB app. Ok, I have a Nokia Symbian but I have been pretty happy with it, the builtin web browswer, email client, clock app does all I need, the only app I really use is Skype and Opera just b/c the Nokia browser cannot display eastern characters on this western distributed phone. If I got a Android, I would probably only download Skype and use whatever app that came with the phone. There is also a camp that b/c there are so many different Android phones, the quality of the iPhone apps might be a better standard.

1286962 2012-07-08 10:20:00 You can look at it the other way. There isn't really anything that windows does over Mac's. The exception is obviously gaming. Neither is out right better, its all personal preference.

Versatility and flexibility is something Windows does very well that Macs aren't so great at.

and you aren't biased are you?

Only slightly. :p
