1286076 2012-07-06 20:56:00 Just an aside. Just been watching the F1 first pactice on Sky at Silverstone England. It is pouring down with rain and they have an estimated crowd of about 180,000 and the commentators were saying all the roads into Silverstone are chock a block with traffic. Over the 3 days of the meeting they are expecting over 300,000 people.
:)

Far out!!!, massive events, we have no idea.

1286077 2012-07-07 08:25:00 The trouble is with these events is that the ratepayers pay for them, and never get paid a dividend. I believe in 'user pays'. If you want to watch identical cars going round in circles, consuming vast amounts of fossil fuel, and not abiding by emission standards and all making the same sound, then pay for it. Better value watching the motorway during rush hour! And why V8's? What about V10, V12, V6, V16, W12 etc? If I had my way the cars would run on non fossil fuels, on standard tyres. They would have the original body with roll cage, not a space frame, and flammable material removed. There would be no restriction on engine cubic capacity or configuration.
Now Rally racing, that's much more interesting!
