1310344 2012-11-03 22:05:00 After doing fresh install of windows 8 i was downloading all me stuffz what I wanted new versions for.... upon trying to download java it said "We have detected you may be viewing this page in a 32-bit browser. If you use 32-bit and 64-bit browsers interchangeably, you will need to install both 32-bit and 64-bit Java in order to have the Java" Now i am using chrome and it is 64bit and my operating system is 64bit.

Any ideas?

1310348 2012-11-03 23:47:00 Well not unless you use a x86 version of the browser. If it's a 64x OS and a 64x browser use the 64x version of the application. It said that for me, I just got the 64x version The Error Guy (14052)
1310349 2012-11-04 00:13:00 Dont think there is a 64 bit version of Chrome. Unless its for Linux. The only browsers that are 64 bit, are IE, Opera, and variants of firefox (waterfox, palemoon) Speedy Gonzales (78)
1310350 2012-11-04 01:14:00 chrome for windows is 32-bit inphinity (7274)

1310352 2012-11-04 04:40:00 As mentioned, there isnt a 64bit version of Chrome for Windows (yet). So if you have Chrome on Windows, it is only 32bit, download the 32bit version of Java. Iantech (16386)
1310353 2012-11-04 05:05:00 ^^ what Iantech said. Your OS is 64-bit, but Chrome is not. Chilling_Silence (9)
