| 72321 | 2002-08-19 03:15:00 | Well I thought I was upgrading from Word 97 cos I seem to be missing some important stuff or have they just hidden it somewhere? Eg. In 97 under page layout I have option to vertically centre text on page. Is this in 2000? Also, I can't find "Float over text" option to move pics around. Also,,,,,is there no Merge or Split cells option in tables in 2000? On a different note, is it possible to change a B&W image to a coloured image (single colour)? Thanks in advance for your knowledge. |

However I note you have "Works" and wonder if the version of Word in that package is a full version?, not had any experience with the Works editions, but as the price is a lot lower....? Re colour for a monochrome image, good question. i.e.can you print a blue version of a b/w image?...possibly you would need to run it through a graphics/photo editor first, never tried it. It would also depend on what the graphic was, and the file type as to it being editable. I have just tried some clip art (b/w line drawing) and yes, you can do it in Word 2002 |

You will probably have to hunt for the options you are looking for, possibly in another location to where they are in word 97. I am not sure but I think word 2002 does not display all the options if they are not being used, by that I mean I think you have to enable a setting somewhere to see all the options. If you insert clipart in word you can recolor it with the edit option. |

| 72327 | 2002-08-19 05:20:00 | Works 2000 does not have Word as the wordprocessor, its a stripped down Works version. Works 2000 Suite does have Word however, so you may not have Word 2000 unless you have the Works Suite. If its not Word 2000 but Works, then you would be far better off with Word 97 - there is little to gain with Word 2000 |
