72295 2002-08-19 03:34:00 good old-fashion phone

or, as dot_com said, any of the above instant messengers, although you would have to have set times to be online at the same time, (which i have found pretty hard to stick to considering me and my mum tried this out), so we just went back to.............the phone :D

grtz sal.

72296 2002-08-19 08:35:00 Hello happgrll,

MSN Messenger is good and easy to use.
It can be downloaded from messenger.microsoft.com

The older version 3.6 works better with win95. Available from www.oldversion.com

72300 2002-08-27 03:21:00 Yahoo, MSN, etc are ways but as a earlier reply indicated you need to be both on line same time.

You could use the phone, I am sure NZ Telecom would love you for that but if he has a cellphone, a cheaper way would be to look up a company called Digiplus which I think is in Auckland but offer nationwide access to cheaper international calling especially to a cellphone.

There website I think is www.digiplus.co.nz

and there number is a NZ Free Call 0800 800 168

Depending on where he is, if it is a land based phone you call, Telecom NZ may be cheaper but if he has a cell phone Digiplus is most likely to be cheaper.

My parents use them, beats paying Telecom NZ over $2 a minute to call my cellphone when they can call through Digiplus for $0.41 minute tops depending on where I am at the time.
