72249 2002-08-19 01:57:00 hey.... i just want to know why is it that whenever i change the video settings to 32 bit... it automatically shows 16 bit agian... whenever i change it ,it goes back?? help.... please....

i post a message a while back about xp shutdown problems..... thanks for the help.... but it wasnt the software.... the bios settings had to be changed.

note:
another thing..... my computer is a p4 2.0 with 512 ram and 80 gb hard drive. but........ it seems so slow.... everything lags. it seems like there's a program running which requires a lot of the memory... but there isnt.
help?

72251 2002-08-19 02:51:00 if you have onboard graphics your card may not support 32 bit color at a high resolution, also XP will slow down even the most powerful systems which is why i still use 98 sec edition .
to speed it up you have to disable most of the bells and whistles fancy graphics effects etc plus install about 20 patches or so to correct the bugs inherent in any initial O/S personally windows 2000 would be my choice of upgrade as it is more stable and been around for a while so all the driverws bugs etc are mostly ironed out.
