72722 2002-08-20 10:57:00 I tried installing my digital camera software to a laptop with windows 95 but I could not get the camera two speak to the computer .
I have it running on my own pc which has os win98se which works fine .
I've heard that win95 is not quite as home with usb as later operating systems.

72723 2002-08-20 11:01:00 Thats right, it won't work with win95. It was never USB compatable

Apparantly if you get win95 OSR2 then it will have USB compatability but the word on the street is that its pretty dodgy.

72724 2002-08-20 12:06:00 Upgrade your laptop to 98 as 95 will only cause you grief with usb. mikebartnz (21)
72725 2002-08-20 19:47:00 thank you that's exactly what I might do Ron Bakker (356)
72726 2002-08-21 04:47:00 There is a patch for W95B and USB. You could get a copy from A Christchurch shop's web site (http://www.62nds.co.nz/). Click on Software, then Patches, then Micro$oft Windows95. Graham L (2)
72727 2002-08-21 05:26:00 I know I had an old version of 95 that was USB compatible. But upgraded can only bring more joy!!! 2K I'd Reccommend!

72728 2002-08-21 08:43:00 Prior to Windows 98's release there was a 95C version (OSR 2.5). A friend of mine has it on hers and her system came with USB ports installed.

There was also an OSR 2.1 version of 95B which apparently was USB compatible.
