| 72715 | 2002-08-20 09:25:00 | i have dual boot 98/xp, but cant get my modem wich is on the com3 port, working in win98. how can i get it to work in 98 (it works fine in xp). in 98, i can manually select the port, but i only have a selection of: com1, com2 and LPT. | jay_db (1157) | ||
| 72716 | 2002-08-20 09:32:00 | Is it [i[Really[/i] on COM 3 Port? Or is it an internal Modem, on a PCI bus, simulating a COM port. Or is it an internal ISA modem on an ISA slot on a real COM 3 port? (these are not usually plug and play so may not get picked up) You will probably need to give more info, this time of night the crystal ball gets foggy.... |

| 72717 | 2002-08-20 09:34:00 | you probilly have your mouse on com 1 so I would try it on com2 (com1 and com3 share an IRQ as do com 2 and com4) shareing IRQ's can be a problem some times. |
