| 73190 | 2002-08-22 07:48:00 | I notice when Windows Media Player is open if I click on "File" then down the bottom appears a list of the last 10 or so used video file names. Is there a way of clearing these out so they do not appear under "File"? Thanks. |

| 73191 | 2002-08-22 10:07:00 | Your not a school principal with dodgy videos are you? Just joking. I can understand why you've posted here - there doesnt seem to be a bloody option anywhere. Normally in Tools-Options these sort of settings are there. However, I see there is a powertoys thingywhatsit if you have WinXP you can download from .... www.microsoft.com The common term for the recent files is MRU (Most Recently Used) and see that page where it talks about clearing the MRU. I cant see a non-XP version of this for the lower class people like myself that doesnt have XP. If you dont have Xp report and I will try and find a work-around for you. I see where it's kept in the reg but that would be last resort. cheers parry |

| 73193 | 2002-08-22 10:20:00 | There is actually a WMP Power Toys version for Win98, its in the Bonus Pack for WMP 7.1 www.microsoft.com You can choose what to instal, (from memory). What you want is the program clearmru.exe As Parry says you can edit the registry, its at: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\P layer and delete the entries in the right hand pane, but its a pain. |

| 73195 | 2002-08-22 10:22:00 | I thought something like TweakUI or XTeq's X-Setup could do that?? It is possible, otherwise, take a small wav/mp3 file and load it up, rename it, changing on digit and then re-load it!!! Works for me?! (Both are noth the easiest, but do work!) Chilling_Silence |
