| 73209 | 2002-08-22 08:59:00 | Can anyone explain this. my os is win98se and my printer is an HP840c. Fot rht elast couple of days i have been getting a spool 32 error message when trying to print a small excel file. I did all the usual, reinstalled the printerand software . Had the computer locking up on me everytime I tried to print something. I managed to print a couple of words in a word document and thought I had the problem solved so went back to my excell document with the same bad result. I then did a cut and paste on to a Word document and VOILA it worked. Whats going on |

A quick look on Google suggests its not uncommon, and could be related to: Antivirus software running (try turning it off to print) Detete temporary files (all files ending in .tmp) Or some other conflicting software (firewall etc) I would look at antivirus software first. |

| 73212 | 2002-08-22 11:40:00 | As long as the printer is not being shared, the easiest thing to do is to change the printer properties in spool settings from spool to print directly to the printer - also try changing from EMF to Raw. This is a common problem and can sometimes be fixed by upgrading or reinstalling the printer driver, but the print direct option is easiest It can also be a problem in the BIOS for the LPT1 port setting |
