73148 2002-08-22 04:26:00 My System Configuration Editor and all five sub menus comes up on my Windows desktop each time the computer is turned on. How do I remedy this? Elliven (1601)
73149 2002-08-22 04:59:00 Check your Start, Programs, Startup folder for a shortcut to the program. If it's there, delete it by right-clicking and choosing delete.

Click Start, Run, type msconfig and press OK. In the window that opens check the Autoexec.bat tab to see whether it's referenced there (will probably say something like c:\windows\system\sysedit.exe). If so, remove the tick beside it.

Go to the Win.ini tab and expand the [windows] folder. If there is a line which says run=c:\windows\system\sysedit.exe, remove the tick beside it.

Go to the Startup tab. Remove any tick beside a line which has sysedit in it, then click OK. You may be prompted to restart your PC. Do so when you're ready.
