73120 2002-08-22 05:48:00 Sorry, but Chilling_silence has given you the link for a totally different operating system, you cannot use it .

More bad news (from Canon Support)

Microsoft has stipulated strict certification criteria for the design of hardware and device drivers in order to be Windows XP compatible . Windows XP is not necessarily backwardly compatible in terms of software applications, hardware devices, and device driver software .

Whilst every effort is made to anticipate future directions of operating system design, it is not possible to guarantee compatibility of hardware and associated software drivers with unreleased future operating systems .

The MPC20, MPC30 and MPC50 models were designed some time before the design criteria for Windows XP became available .

Simply NOT compatible .

73122 2002-08-23 07:15:00 I can only comment that this experience with Canon mirrors one of mine a few years ago when a VERY expensive Canon printer was rendered useless when changing to Windows 95 from Windows 3.1.

The printer was only about a year old and was unsupported by Canon who did not (ever) release drivers, and the old ones were unuseable.

While this happens to many printer makers, at least HP have usually provided drivers albeit well afterwards. I woould look at the lates HP all-in-one, I use a PSC750 but it doesnt do standalone fax. They have a model that does however.
