| 73599 | 2002-08-24 23:05:00 | I think they look good, it depends on a few other things as well like how the site is laid out and the meaning of the site. Personally i think grey against the black background looks better in most situations, but not all. Cheers Sam |

| 73601 | 2002-08-25 00:36:00 | i think everything is a matter of taste, I try to avoid it because it is so common, but damn it, it looks good (if you like that sort of thing) I was pressured into doing this site (www.rescue.net.nz)this way, and It did look a hell of a lot better than black font on white. Being the content that it is, i think it is appropriate. One thing, printing from this can be a real nightmare..... often the white font stays white, and the background changes to match, which is one damn good reason that i wouldn't want to see that here Also.. it saves power/wear on monitor.. i like that. |

For instance I have designed this site (2guys1girl.hostnz.co.nz) in this way. However, there is not much reading to be done. However, the Dunedin section contains a lot of text, so I have used a light grey background with black text to make it easier to read, and grey so that it looks OK with the rest of the site. Click on the Dunedin link on the above site, or click here (2guys1girl.hostnz.co.nz) to view the page out of the original sites frames. G P |

" Thought the first rule of publicity, was not to be negative.... Obviously written by someone not a Dunedinite LOL |

So are apostrophes ;-) (most of yours shouldn't be there). I like the picture which isn't of the flat. I hope the real one is "down" to the standard of student flats, rotten floorboards, holes in the walls, broken windows (and that's before the party). |
