2002-08-25 07:31:00 | I have several copies of Win 95 (genuine copies) given to me over the last few years .... but i dont know the cd Key for them .... is there anyway to find out the number from the CD itself ? | Will (553) | |
2002-08-25 07:37:00 | Hi Will, no the CDKey is not on the CD itself. The case or paper sleeve that the CD comes in has a sticker on it with the CDKey. If you havent got that then your stuck. | parry (27) | |

Navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion and look for an entry in the right pane called "ProductId" |

2002-08-25 08:52:00 | Mike-Y is correct, there was a Product ID on the Certificate of Authenticity on the booklet that came with an OEM package, and this goes into the registry, but no CD key as far as Im aware and there is no ID on the CD itself. So to legalise them you need to get hold of some Certificates of Authenticity. Maybe Steve Askew has some for sale ;)

2002-08-25 20:12:00 | Hi Will, I use Win95 B OEM version. The Product ID No is on the Certificate of Authenticity. Same number is also in the Registry (follow Mike-Y path) Or: R-click My computer and go to properties. Same number is there. I use this number to install on formatted HDD. Have also used this number to install MS Works. If you have Win95 on a computer, it's ID number may work with any of the CDs Antonia
