| 73653 | 2002-08-25 02:36:00 | I have an early USR Sportster 56 k modem that gets confused between the American busy signal and our normal signal consequently it rings twice then hangs up reporting a busy line. There is a command to add to the mdem int string to stop this happening, can anybody tell me what it is? Thanks, Pat |

A problem is that I think the S register settings can be different for different model modems even of the same make. Looking in an old internal ISA 56k sportster manual (but includes external modems as well), suggests that changing S27 changes the modulation for different types of call, overseas and domestic (ie Canada and US), etc. Here are the different values listed to enable and or disable different modes. But again this is a bit of a wild guess. n=0=default, then 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128. Cheers |
