74109 2002-08-27 00:51:00 Help, During a win XP Home reinstall (repair) setup freezes and asks for the path to file "asms". This is a directory on the XP CDROM under "I386".
Setup suggests a path of "GLOBALROOT\DEVICE\CDROM0\I386".
Entering neither this nor D:\I386\ works and Setup exits, computer reboots into setup (with or without CDROM in tray) and around we go again. Tried reinstalling Win 98 via a boot floppy but it doesn't like my NTFS partition.
Anything I can do except repartition?
PS I'm reinstalling cos of difficulty getting RADEON 8500DV and SBLive to co-exist, but that's another story (P4 2.0 Gig, 512 DDR, 80 Gb HDD, Asus P4s533)
Thanks for any suggestions
