| 74034 | 2002-08-26 10:34:00 | I have just set up a new computer (OS XP pro), have everything working expect the modem card. When loading the divers that came with the CD of the modem (56k PCI) XP gets as far as saying Logo testing error continue anyway? , which I did. But no go, still showing errors in device manager. 1 thing it asks me is to check that the interrupt for the port is properly set. How do I do this? Any help in getting my modem going is much app. | Trev (427) | ||

Uninstall it, power down, remove it, power up, power down, refit in a different slot, power up and try again. Then throw the modem in the waste bin, they make a satisfying "clunk". Then buy an external hardware modem. |

As gf says physically removing and reinstalling it can make it work, but I'd also start searching for an updated driver. Try your modem manufacturers website or maybe here (http://www.driverguide.com) | antmannz (28) | ||
