74093 2002-08-27 02:54:00 Baldy, if I could do it so can you.

Download the stable version rather than the beta version for a start.

Go in Outlook Express and remove the tick that allows OE to check every x minutes and automatically download the mail.

Install Mailwaher.

Off memory during installation it will ask you to enter your user name and password, smtp and pop details etc, all the same details as seen in your OE Account.

When you access the net, use mailwasher to access your mail on the server. It will give you a list of what there is there. If it is spam you just place a tick in the bounce and delete boxes. Any mail you bounce automatically goes into your Blacklist.

If it is friends, click once and in the Email Tab, click the Add to Friends List.

Then click Process Mail, if OE is not already open it will open OE and download the remaining mail also deleting and bouncing messages you have ticked.

If OE is running in the background, still click Process Mail and that will flick up OE but you will need to click the Send/Receive in OE to get the selected messages to download.

If you want any further help contact me at

duckyduck@emailpinoy.com

and I will send you some screen shots and any other help you require.

74095 2002-08-27 05:37:00 But don't bounce spam. Have a look at the FAQ for my reasons. Graham L (2)
74096 2002-08-27 10:29:00 We have a Spam FAQ (pressf1.co.nz) with advice on how to deal with spam. Duckyduck might like to take a look as well ;-)

Welcome back to the forum by the way, duckyduck. I've sent you an email. :-)

74097 2002-08-27 10:50:00 I read the Spam FAQ, and must say I don't agree with it at all .

I have had a fine old time bouncing those Spams since I installed MailWasher . . . . . Not that I had too many to bounce, mind you .

BALDY :-) (In a sort of sh*t st*rr*ng mood tonite LOL)

74098 2002-08-27 11:00:00 Baldy,

I to use MailWasher and regularly bounce spam messages.
In regard to the comments in the Spam FAQ about MailWasher you/we should note that the new version/update to Mailwasher is about to resolve most of the 'bounce' issues. See MailWasher Update (www.idg.net.nz)
