| 74564 | 2002-08-28 21:28:00 | Hi Some time ago I reinstalled Win2000 and as far as I reacall simnce then I have not been able to play MP3 ow WAV files in Windows Media Player, Realplayer, Musicmatch Jukebox, or Winamp. I can play Cd's in the CDRW drive ok using the soundcard - not the jack attached to the drive. I use Creative CT5880 and updated the drivers recently but to no effect. I suspect something to do with codecs or perhaps some bios settings. Can someone offer advice here please My system is as follows: 756 Megabytes Installed Memory Main Circuit Board 800 megahertz AMD Athlon 128 kilobyte primary memory cache 256 kilobyte secondary memory cache Board: Gigabyte Technology Co. Ltd. 7ZX 1.0 Bus Clock: 100 MHz overclocked to 110 megahertz BIOS: American Megatrends Inc. 62710 07/15/97 Drives Memory Modules 20 Gigabytes Usable Hard Drive Capacity 6.4 Gigabytes Hard Drive Free Space ATAPI CD-ROM DRIVE-32X ATAPI CDRW-ROM DRIVE 3.5" format removeable media [Floppy drive] Bus Adapters Multimedia None detected Creative Sound Blaster PCI128 (WDM) |

There are several control, you need to click on the volume control icon (or access it from control panel - sounds) and select options-properties, then tick all the options to display. Look for muted items, or sliders set low. Play around there and see if it helps. |
