74517 2002-08-28 08:32:00 in deleting sony's memory stick the other day I didn't uninstall all of it and now in my start up tab in msconfig I now have the memory stick allocated to C:\ Programs\Plus\Sysagent.exe. I have stopped this loading at start up but would like to get rid of the entry for good. How do I do this without ruining my relatively stable WIN 98SE etc etc? Looking forward to hearing from you. (PS I have reinstalled the memory stick software and there is another memory stick monitor item in the start up that points to the right program.) Toby (767)
74518 2002-08-28 09:30:00 As far as I know that msconfig entry ( C:\ Programs\Plus\Sysagent.exe )has nothing to do with the memory stick it is part of the microsoft plus pack.

What went wrong when you were un installing it?

I see no particular reason why you should of had to disable sysagent.exe

Can you explain further please?

74520 2002-08-28 15:48:00 sysagent is loaded when you install 98se, not from cab files though.

If you want to delete from msconfig try downloading regcleaner and click on startup list, tick on what you want to remove and click 'remove selected'.

Back up is made so if you decide you want it back.

cheers

74521 2002-08-29 07:59:00 Sam you are right, something nust have happened in uninstalling the memory stick software. Because the memory stick was included in the start up menu, despite being "deleted" the "new" but wrong lead to sysagent.exe, program started on boot up. When I opened up msconfig that's where I saw the wrong program line and checked it from being loaded on start up. Anyway to cut along story short, I downloaded reg cleaner as recommended by some other PressF1 correspondence and the line in the start up tab has now gone. Toby (767)
