74484 2002-08-29 11:00:00 If you are connecting OK leave as it is, you are better not to have any extra settings,
Peter might be on the right track with his comments about the Telecom line issues although you did say had connected from different location but if they were in the same local area then this could be the problem.

74485 2002-08-29 12:34:00 Thanks Peter,
I have just one phone line. I will ask telecom to do a line check.

74486 2002-08-30 02:48:00 Even if you have only one line, it could still be a 1+1 ...... particularly if all your neighbours have 2 lines. antmannz (28)
74487 2002-08-30 07:51:00 telecom told me today that I am on a +2 line. What does that mean? olento (1662)
74488 2002-08-30 07:53:00 Hi, the pc.co has been quite elusive and I am still waiting for their say. Thanks for all your advise. olento (1662)
74489 2002-08-30 09:09:00 I wouldn't hold my breath for the PC Company olento, being a modem problem there is bound to be plenty of other reasons why it isn't connecting at a good speed. Sam H (525)
74490 2002-08-30 10:12:00 >>If you only have one line, you may be on what is called 1+1,or 0+2 line, and these will only give you 31200bps max

31200 max

74491 2002-08-30 11:53:00 Hi,sorry, but as godfather says, that's it.Actually, you will only usually get 28800bps max,so unless you can get Telecom to find a spare circuit in the cable outside, you are tough out of luck.

74492 2002-08-30 11:57:00 Sorry. To answer your question,a 0+2 line is the new way of putting 2 lines over the one pair of wires(1+1 being the old way).Effectively,it gives Telecom twice the rental for the one circuit, great revenue wise, but no good for the internet. But as Telecom says the network was designed for voice, not data, tough luck.
