| 74524 | 2002-08-28 08:57:00 | Aghhhh i have become the person i laugh at... i had a "friend" set some pr0n pictures up as background on my win 2k machine yesterday which i pretty quickly got rid of as background - now this has set itself to show for about 30 seconds on start up and shut down as a splash screen which my girlfriend objects to even more than me... anyone please tell me how to get rid of this.. thanks Johnny |

| 74530 | 2002-08-28 12:45:00 | my solution based on what i think your questions means goes like this. change your background a few times sing totally different wallpapers, and reboot a few times too, sould fix this problem up. i notice that sometimes, the previous wallpaper shows just before the one u have set comes up, between the boot up screen, and the real wallpaper, yeah grtz sal. tga |

| 74532 | 2002-08-29 06:35:00 | My darling daughter "accidentally" made a change to my desktop last week - just after I'd actually put a picture on it (I've left it green for years to save on system resources). So I went and put my picture back. When I came to turn the computer off my image went .... and there was hers for a few seconds. The reverse on start up. The problem? My image required "active desktop". Hers didn't. Thus there were TWO images as background. (Before and after active desktop opened and closed I saw the second image). Right click an empty area on your desktop, click on Properties, on the "Web" tab uncheck "View as Active Desktop" and on the "background" tab set Wallpaper to none. Once it's back to a normal green (or blue) restart. Once you're sure it's gone it's your choice as to whether to leave it that way or put an image back. |
