74834 2002-08-29 07:43:00 When I try to configure Microsoft Sidewider 3D Pro under status it has not connected and you cant go to the properties
When I try to configure Sidewinder under status it has OK but when you go to properties the 4 buttons light up but the axis dosen’t work at all.
When I go to settings to try and calibrate it there is no x in the box at all.

By trying to install it by loading the software that came with it I get this:

“You must be an administrator to install this product”

Microsoft Sidewider page on the internet say that with Windows XP it should install itself, but it hasn’t.

It Works on a Windows 98 computer fine

74835 2002-08-29 11:00:00 The "administrator" is the one who has the most rights to acces the computer and all the info on it, Ur using windows xp and the reason ur getting that message is probaly because ur not logged in as the administrator, go to control panel, then to user accounts then check to see which login profile has the status as administrator. If u know the administrator's login details do login and try install the sidewinder then, should defintely work.

cheers,

74836 2002-08-30 08:40:00 The software for early Sidewinder joysticks is built in to XP- do not try to instal from the CD. Go to "Game controllers", you can access this through "Settings" in your flight sim. Click on "Add" then "Microsoft Sidewinder (Auto detect)"
My early FF Pro works perfectly.
