2002-09-01 05:24:00 hi everyone, i created some vcds using Nero burning rom, i used avi files for the vcd, when the burn process completed i played the vcd on my dvd player and there was no video, only sound, i used a cartoon avi file for the vcd, then i tried actual avi movie files from my camcorder and these worked perfectly on the dvd player . Did i do something wrong in the burn process?

cheers,

2002-09-01 06:08:00 nreo may not be able to convert the codec that was used. convert the avi to mpeg first then burn vcd. tweak'e (174)
2002-09-01 06:15:00 I think ducky replied to you or someone else on vcd's the other day. Him and I have played with this before and when he sent me a CD of jpeg and audio files using the VCD feature in Nero they played great on my DVD that I had at that time. The downside was that I had to alter one of the options on the DVD player to make the CD's play. Bearing in mind every DVD player will have there own various options on the remote and / or front panel you may have to try out (if you have not already) combinations of the keys on your remote. That is what I did, don't ask me which ones, I cannot even find the CD at the moment to rerun it and see what I did. I cannot get hold of ducky at the moment either to see if he can shed some light on how he created the disk or played it back. alex (1697)
2002-09-01 06:17:00 Just saw the post that Tweak made, good point, I don't know what sort of audio file ducky used on the one he gave me but converting to mpeg could well be a possible cure. alex (1697)
