75410 2002-09-02 09:26:00 Hi C.Adkins, thanks for the additional info. Im afraid I havent found an answer for you yet but if you look at support.microsoft.com and scroll down to the bottom you will see links to invalid page faults and OE errors for Win98.

Unfortunately the reasons for this error is extensive. I see that there is a simlar error to your OE at 16f with Age of Empires 2 (OE error at 15f). Was AOE2 one of the games that keeps crashing?

Also do these errors happen whenever you start Win98 or just after running certain games?

Post back with more details. :-)

75411 2002-09-02 09:41:00 The problem only occurs while playing two games. One is a download from the net and the other is off a cd. Aoe is not one of them c.adkins (144)
75412 2002-09-02 10:01:00 Ok, were narrowing things down a bit. So what games are they? Have you had a look at the publishers site to see if they have a support section which may explain these errors? Quite often a patch is available to correct problems experienced. parry (27)
75413 2002-09-03 04:11:00 The thing is I have played these same games for a year or so without any problems whatsoever. In fact on the game I play from the cd just last night it shut down automatically just minutes into the game and the screen returned to the desktop without any boxes popping up to tell me what had even happened. This little scenario has never happened to me before c.adkins (144)
75414 2002-09-03 05:00:00 The list of vagaries with PC's is a long one :-) Whatever has caused this could be many things ... but if its only happening on certain games I would suggest looking on the publishers site for those games. They know their product (or should do) so should be able to suggest fixes.

Windows updates over time such as refinements of the DirectX set (which supports video/audio etc) sometimes means upgrades of video/audio drivers are required, & where games have worked perfectly before suddenly they dont.

This is not to say DirectX is the problem - just an example. Some change of your PC environment has occured - what we dont know. It could even be a conflict with a recently installed program but not necessarily so.
