| 75155 | 2002-09-01 08:31:00 | partitioning from within Windoze requires something like Partition Magic. Another option I have used is FIPS (open source free download) which will resize a windoze C: and create room for a D: with running a defragmenter on the drive (to move all the data to the beginning) perhaps the disabling of the Windoze virtual memory, and a little bit of luck. If there is any problem the program exits without making any changes, and a backup is always reccomended. This is something I have done in order to install Linux on a windoze box, it worked for me, although I read the documentation *very* carefully before proceeding. |
