1311093 2012-11-07 22:31:00 This is work related.

A client wants to install our software on a Surface but it needs .net 3.5 to run and when downloaded from the net it would not install.

Any ideas?

1311094 2012-11-07 22:40:00 Enable .NET 3.5 from Windows features - search for "Windows features", tap the Settings filter, and tap "Turn Windows features on or off". Check .NET Framework 3.5 in that list (it's first on my PC) and step through. pcuser42 (130)

I'm assuming he's got a Surface RT and not the Surface Pro (which isn't out yet :p) - I just realised, if he's trying to install a desktop app, it won't work at all.

1311097 2012-11-07 22:57:00 I don't have one to test with, does the Surface have a Windows Features? Depends on what version. The RT AFAIK doesn't, its mainly apps, the Windows 8 Pro version, which of course will be more expensive, has the Windows OS under the start menu, just like on the desktop versions.

Have a read of microsoft_surface_for_windows_8_everything_you_nee d_to_know (www.knowyourmobile.com d_to_know.html)
