1310938 2012-11-07 04:15:00 Anyone had any success getting a Fuji Xerox C240 to run on Windows 7 64bit
The latest I can find on the Xerox site is x86 drivers dated 2009.
Havent tried them yet.

1310939 2012-11-07 08:44:00 You won't get x86 drivers to install on a x64 system.
Can you find any x64 drivers for Vista or server 2008?

1310942 2012-11-08 06:42:00 The x86 drivers should install just fine.

All our printers here, even if they had x64 drivers ALL installed to Program Files X86 in Windows 7 and all work perfectly.

Many drivers install in the PF x86 Folder, not always in the x64.

1310946 2012-11-08 21:12:00 Correct, but x86 will install on x64 which is what the OS is :)

You sure about that?
I've never been able to get x86 printer drivers to install on a x64 system, I always get a message saying something about this doesn't support your operating system.

And this is taken directly from Microsoft's website:

Note To print from a computer that is running a 64-bit version of Windows, you must have a 64-bit printer driver. You cannot use a 32-bit printer driver on a computer that is running a 64-bit version of Windows.

1310947 2012-11-08 22:17:00 Some do some dont. If you look in the C drive of either Vista or W7 theres a folder called program files (x86) In there you'll find the majority of your programs.

On all the brother and printers we have here they have all installed in the x86 folder and used the original CD's, I did look and there was no reference to x64 in the CD anywhere, unless they are not marked as such. ( they may have been 64's - but did not say)

Anyway, Windows 7 x64 has inbuilt PCL drivers for this printer Fuji Xerox C240.

If you manually run through the add printer wizard, then click on windows update it will download the current drivers for many models of printers ( takes a while so go make a cuppa while its doing it) , and you select the FX C240.
