| 1310911 | 2012-11-06 22:33:00 | Are you using Homegroup for Win7 and 8?? Or have you disabled it? And have you shared a folder in Win8? | Speedy Gonzales (78) | ||
| 1310912 | 2012-11-07 19:57:00 | Yes, my W8 set the network to Homegroup by default. | linw (53) | ||
| 1310913 | 2012-11-07 20:16:00 | After some fiddling, restarting, etc., somehow, it's all working. Don't ask me how I did it, I don't really know. Just find that Win8 is weird - recalling those Vista days. Don't really know how long can I hang on to Win8! |

| 1310914 | 2012-11-07 20:24:00 | Windows 8 networking is the same as Windows 7. Just a few things to check. Obviously the folder is shared to start with ( I use Everyone/Read Write) :) Make sure password protected sharing is disabled in the advanced network & Sharing settings ( from in the Control Panel) And heres the "got ya" that pays to be done other wise it can and does give problems, and the shared folders cant bee seen: Under the Advanced shared options of the folder. Make sure its shared and permissions given, other wise sometimes the share wont show as a network share. |
