75847 2002-09-02 10:59:00 I have just downloaded the 40.1 drivers, and they work fine. However, om a related issue, whenever i have a large whit are on my screen (eg PressF1 page) the image on the screen increases in size vertically.

i.e. if I open pressf1, and the minimise it, the image shortens by about 5mm, and when maximised, it expands again. Slowly increasing the window size by hand has the same effect, but it is less noticeable as it happens more gradually.

Dark colours do not have the same effect. This has happened ever since I moved to XP with all driver versions. I have a 17inch CRT monitor, and a Geforce 2 MX400 card.

Any ideas?

I find that mine does a similar thing sometimes, Used to happen with the old 8meg onboard as well.

75849 2002-09-02 11:42:00 JM's onto it. Your monitor has degraded EHT regulation. When you have 'more white' to display, the high voltage sags, from the increased demand. A lower EHT allows the picture to 'bloom' (it is pulled wider / higher by the deflection electrodes). Some monitors develop this effect as they age, others (cheaper models) exhibit the effect from new. wuppo (41)
75850 2002-09-02 11:53:00 Damn cheap monitor!! I thought as much. Guess what? The image is also taller on the left than the right (Like keystone on it's side) Of course there isn't a setting to fix this.

Oh well - wait till the bloody thing dies I guess.
