75594 2002-09-01 21:57:00 Finished playing Medal of Honour:AA about a month ago and am now ready to start multiplayer. B-)

I went to gameplanet and got the server address. When I went to multiplayer and inserted the ISP it then started to hook up but then timed out, it has done this every time I try it, as well as doing it to overseas adsresses, how do I fix this. ?:|

Also, I am on xtra, dial up, get download speeds of 5.5k's, am I wasting my time trying to play multiplayer games?

75595 2002-09-01 23:03:00 Which version of Windows are you running?? And you should be fine on a dial-up account especially for local servers. John Grieve (367)

75597 2002-09-02 00:50:00 Make sure you have the latest patch for the game. Should be available at www.gameplanet.co.nz

Check that firewall in XP is set up to allow MOHAA through.

Check here www.mohmatch.com

75599 2002-09-02 12:42:00 While you are trying to get the game going I suggest disabling the firewall software. The server timed out error happens if you don't have the update installed. The current version is 1.11 so make sure you have the right one. Also some servers require you to download extra maps especially the gameplanet ones so try a few to make sure this isn't your problem. 75601 2002-09-03 06:57:00 Are you trying to join servers from the in game browser? You should try to join the servers that have the lowest pings. Razer (651)

75603 2002-09-03 07:40:00 It should go mate. MOH was my 1st intro to online gaming and it is great!!. Your 56k dialup with xtra will be playable but when there is more than 14 or so players on the same server the game can start to lag.
Aha I know what your problem may be.you have the latest patch which is good as you need that. Now in the multi player options make sure you have your connection speed set to 56k, not lan or ISDN(adsl) which I think it is set to by default. I think mine was if I remember rightly. It's where you chose your name and character. and make sure you press apply to save the settings. Hope this helps.
PS all the other advice here must be followed al well, (lowest ping and patch installed) NZ severs are ,xtra death incorporated and gamplanetnz, there is 3 of each, The GP severs do need some additional maps which I highly recommend getting from here downloads.gameplanet.co.nz
Look inside the files once downloaded (which will take about 45mins on a dialup, which aint much as the maps are huge and there is 5 or 6 in each map pack) and there will be an installer in the folder, double click on the installer then reboot and your away, we hope.
