2002-09-02 22:50:00 | I am not complaining but since i had a check done on my computer at pcpitstop i haven't received any spam which is great. The only thing I did was alter the security systems and I deleted mailwasher. Out of curiosity why is this? Not only do I not receive porn but advertising. | lojos_ (1659) | |
2002-09-02 22:54:00 | I don't generally get much spam, If I do, and it starts getting out of control, I'll get a new hotmail account. My old one, Chilling_Silence, even started recieving viruses. Just watch what is ticked and not ticked when you sign up to certain websites!

2002-09-02 23:11:00 | To understand spam.. think like a spammer. i'll just put on my evil hat and adopt that persona for you. ]:) Spam is there to annoy people (if you don't beleive that, then why would a spammer stay doing it?), and sell get rich/get a big... type products to the gullable.. to sell these products, they have to know that some of the email addresses are real. If you they don't bounce, chances are some one somewhere is swearing about there spam levels. If they ever get a reply ("to be removed from this list just reply...... yeah right!) thats it.. a confirmed email address..... we'll throw megabytes at this one ye-har Of course theres people who happily give thier email addresses to spammers (just sign up.. we wont give the email addy to anyone yeah right!) *takes evil spammer hat off now* bravenet is one example of an orginisation to NEVER give an email address to. i created one "bravenet@a-domain-i-own" and used that to sign up for web services guestbook or something..... low and behold naked celebreties were soon offered to "bravenet@a-domain-i-own", an adress used for no other purpose. If you dont flaunt yerself, you don't reply, and you had mailwasher bouncing yer emails... you should be right. but some spam is enevitable, it's just part of being visible on the internet.

2002-09-02 23:23:00 | Well, I'll go further and say that if you ever put an email address on a web page, anywhere, sooner or late it is spam fodder. Not only that, but I'm pretty damn sure that spammers have caught onto to the fact that viruses have been able to access Outlook adress books. We assume that virus writers do their thing because they are obnoxious little weeds, but I suspect some of them are obnoxious little weeds trying to make money - by selling emails harvested from users addreess books to spammers. I also know from looking at our web logs that every month our sites are hit by spiders looking for email addresses. In short, it is nearly impossible to keep an email address spam free if you intend to use it at all. I fully support the death penality for spammers and ask you to do the same.

2002-09-02 23:48:00 | Oddly i have never got spam on the address i have typed out on these pages many a time... >>I fully support the death penalty for spammers and ask you to do the same. Bruce, i think public executions are in order... send them to greece and put them on a stake over the burning playstations..... People who send bulk email with all the addresses in the "to" feild, or forward such emails should be dealt with as accomplaces As for viri..... <another temporary adoption of spamming****** persona> and yeah if i had no morals, and the right skills, i would wright a great virus that would travel the world in a week and get me all you internet users e-mail addresses HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA What a wonderful data base to sell Britney pics that would be! </another temporary adoption of spamming****** persona>
