| 75972 | 2002-09-03 00:29:00 | I had the magistrate virus. Had it removed, however, it has damaged Outlook Express. It now takes several minutes for Outlook to open after clicking on the icon and once inside its takes ages to open my first email.......great stuff it you want time out to make yourself coffee or tea, but otherwise a real pain. Any ideas on how to fix or repair or where else to go for advice online ? |

I recomend you go to the Magister removal tool (securityresponse.symantec.com) instructions ( do it all exactly as written ) and then go to the Manual removal instructions (securityresponse.symantec.com) page and check your registry. I have just finished removing this virus from a friends computer and even after running the removal tool there was bits left behind in the registry etc, after running the manula instructions too all was fixed. Those pages also contain instructions on how to replace damaged files etc for various Operating Systems. |

You can then format the partitition & reinstall the OS in a matter of minutes. I had the same problem, they were breeding faster than I could kill them! | Mzee (158) | ||
