75926 2002-09-02 22:26:00 I understand you concerns, working part-time in a cyber cafe, people access everything!!!!

Check the browser History, If they were a clever little puppy, they would have actually signed out though, But It might still work. By default, Hotmail sessions expire after 48 hours I think. Check the history, It'll be labelled Hotmail Inbox I think, or, Welcome to Hotmail. Just check for that stuff, I know coz I've done it and sent a couple of e-mails from a younger siblings account. it was about 4 months ago and so maybe they've beefed up security. It can be done, and at one stage, I was even able to lock them out of their account, until they increased security for that!

Cheers

75927 2002-09-02 22:29:00 Do you mean they set up and internet based account? Or added an account to Outlook/Outlook Express?

If they set up and internet based email account, you should be able to view it as a drop down box if you go to the hotmail login page. You may need to go to Tools > Internet Options >Content > Autocomplete to be able to view the hotmail accounts which have been accessed on your computer.

If they set up an account on you Outlook/Outlook Express, you can go to Tools > Email Accounts and check "View or Change existing email accounts" (Outlook) or Tools > Accounts and take it from there in OE to check what email addresses have been set up to receive mail from there.

If you're trying to hack someones account, I would advise against it.

Hotmail is a public email service.. Someone else may have set up a hotmail account on your PC, and if so it's theres, not your problem, and what you are suggesting is the electronic equivelant of raiding peoples home letter boxes.. You have no legal or moral right to do this.

Chances are they were "accessing" their email, or sending personal messages.

I had a well used network here some years back which many of my friends, flatmates, flatmates friends, etc used for email and websurfing.
What was saved on my computer was partly my buisenuss. What was personal correspondence was NOT.

75930 2002-09-02 23:06:00 Yup - if it's hotmail it's email - what right do you have to look at their email account. Did you give them permission to use your PC? The hotmail account is NOT set up on your PC. It is set up on Hotmail. They just used your PC to access it, and it in no way should affect your PC. I don't see that you've got any right at all to go snooping in someone's Hotmail account.

It is like saying someone used my phone to call someone, and now I want to find out who they called and what they said.

75931 2002-09-03 04:13:00 hehe, True, You can just clear out the history and temporary internet files, and also the auto complete stuff... allmost all traces are then gone. It's no need to worry about that sorta stuff!
If they downlaoded a virus or the likes to your PC, then be worried, otherwise, working at a cyber cafe, you have no need to worry, hundreds of people use the computers at my work, no big deal....
hmmm.... working makes me hungry, I'm hungry. Where's the nearest fast food resraunt?
