76230 2002-09-04 01:05:00 Running Windows ME on Athlon 900Mhz, 128 Mb of RAM, I often get screenfreezes and messages saying I am impossibly low on resources. Also I had a blurring, yes blurring, of the lettering at the bottom of the MSIE 6.0.2600.0000 webpage. It was as though someone had put their finger in wet paint and smeared it across the bottom bar of the web browser page. Any ideas what is wrong and what I should do?

76231 2002-09-04 01:55:00 Hi ya. Thats a weird one - blurring often occurs when the processor is chugging and cant repaint the screen quick enough. When do you get low on resources - when you first open Windows or only when you open IE? Give a bit more detail & also include what O/S you are using and someone here may be able to help :-) parry (27)
76232 2002-09-04 01:57:00 er Duh, no need to include OS since you said it was Me didnt you! Forgive my painted on eyes :-) parry (27)
76233 2002-09-04 02:38:00 Run msconfig, and have a look for things that you don't really need loaded. If you have lots of stuff in that taskbar it uses up resources. If you don't have lots of stuff, then check to see what 16bit applications you are running.
The thing with resources and 16bit apps. is that a 16bit app will not release the resources it used untill all 16bit apps have stoped running.

76235 2002-10-16 03:31:00 Me (no pun) too, I suspect

I'm running ME with McAfee, ZoneAlarmPro and NetMedic (Uh Oh = I suspect good OLD NetMedic is the culprit ..)

Just how can we tell WHICH apps are 16bit ?

By the way is there a GOOD intenet Monitor available - I particularly want to watch the traffic inwards AND outwards and to see WHERE the congestion is (EG: my ISP ingress or egress, or the 'net or the site)
