2002-09-03 23:27:00 | Hi, Something has changed the Address of the page that comes up when a web address cannot be found from the default to a gambling page. How do you return this to the page that was there in the initial setup. I Have IE 6 on XP Pro

2002-09-03 23:37:00 | In IE6, Tools - Internet Options - General Then change the page in the "Home Page" area, press Apply and exit out. If this change reverts to the gambling page when the system is booted next, post back for further instructions.

2002-09-03 23:44:00 | The home page is fine. When I start IE6 the Xtra home page comes up fine. Its when I type an invalid address in the Address field and press Go. It used to come up with a microsoft page with severl useful options i now comes up with a Gambling applet and Amazon page. | gjwhite (1747) | |
2002-09-03 23:49:00 | You might get round it, if you install the Google Tool Bar. I never type anything in the address field. Hate using computers with out the Tool Bar, these days. Must be getting old and lazy! BALDY

2002-09-04 00:00:00 | you're right on the$$ god :) there is a couple of nasty adware progs that change the standard ERROR 404 page not found etc into ad pages. adaware should get rid of it. don't forget to run your windows update. some use sircuity holes to auto install on pc's or just be more carefull on what you ok to install.

2002-09-04 01:36:00 | Thanks Guys that fixed it. Thought my Norton Firewall would have picked that up. Just one thing the web address that you gave me for Adaware was wrong it should be www.lavasoftusa.com. Thanks for your help.
