| 76339 | 2002-09-04 12:33:00 | Hi Effie.... have a look at what Susan says, except that when you get to option | properties.. click on the 'record' button..then in that "select" the mic input, and move the slider about 3/4 the way up. Note that in the record control the options are not 'muted' but they are "selected".. It is a MS confusing thing..There are two vol controls.. One is the 'Play control' which controls the inputs for sound from the speakers.. Some can be be 'Muted', and for talking programs, the Mic needs to be 'Muted' to avoid feedback from your speakers. The other 'Record control' controls the inputs that go to record/talk programs.. In this the desired input, like your mic needs to be "selected" Maybe these settings could be the cause of your problem. |

| 76340 | 2002-09-06 02:04:00 | Hi Bazza and Susan B - sorry I am slow- my @#$#$%%$# computer finally chucked the towel in and I have had to have it re formatted and re partitioned- I had 29 icons of various sorts on my workbench- now 9 so I have to replace those that I need I will activate what you have just told me- bear with me if I am slow my old age is catching up with me( oh to be back in business (retired 6 years ago & damned glad to do so what with all the hazzles)-now! surely they were not as bad as this after all.--- or were they?
