| 76424 | 2002-09-04 12:07:00 | Hi I am having problems with one aspect of XP Pro. It occasionally (not everytime, usually just after I think I have solved the problem) hangs when shutting down. It says logging off, then saving settings, then windows is shutting down (or similar), but stops there. The mouse cursor is on screen but wont move. I can hear the hard drive switching off. I either have to hit the reset button or hold the power button for 5 secs or so to power off. I have updated all drivers I can think off, and uninstalled any program that it said could have issues before upgrading from Win98SE. I have searched and uploaded fixes/patches on the MS site, and searched Google, with no joy so far. Many sites tell of restarting problems rather than shutting down. I would appreciate any ideas on this, thanks J :D |
