| 76757 | 2002-09-05 21:53:00 | i have an old p200 machine running win98 which has an intermittent problem. often at startup it is halted with an error message saying "keyboard is locked , but this machine hasn't got a keyboard lock. After many failed startups the machine will suddenly decide to load right through to windows. Has anybody got any idea's Petermac |

| 76758 | 2002-09-05 22:07:00 | Hi Peter I have had a similar problem, only the message was "no keyboard". It nearly drove me mad! Try these: 1) Try another keyboard 2) Check/replace cmos battery (that cured mine & I can't figure why) 3) Rather than multiple reboots, unplug the keyboard, reboot then plug it in before POST starts i.e straight after you press the reset button. That worked every time for me until I changed the cmos battery because my clock was failing and the @#$%*! problem went away. It came back two weeks later when the new battery failed prematurely but went agin with the second replacement.
