76495 2002-09-04 23:19:00 I have recently installed a USB card on my PC but when I try to install a printer or scanner etc. it never recognises the device. I have tried reinstalling the OS (WIN 98) and I cannot find an update of my BIOS. It is has a 200mhz CPU. Antony (1760)
76496 2002-09-04 23:52:00 I seem to remember that the earlier version of Win 98 did not support USB properly. You may want to try Microsofts web site and check out their help section.

Do you know what version of Win 98 u r running

76497 2002-09-05 00:00:00 Win98 does support USB, it's win95 that does not.
Since you have reinstalled the OS but to no avail, i would think that there is a problem with the USB card.
Is the card recognised?
if so, then have a look in device manager and see if your printer or scanner are appearing but with yellow signs next to them.
If they are not showing up at all then it maybe that your card is faulty.
Like Obelix said, have a look through Microsofts Knowledge DB, i'm sure they will have something in their also
