76853 2002-09-06 00:16:00 Just had a thought .... put just-off-boiling water into the machine instead of cold. Then the machine doesn't have to heat the water, but just get it up to the required pressure to force through the coffee. antmannz (28)

They have 2 types and I strongly recommend the larger one that is wide at the base and has a sliding lid to keep coffee and heat in.

I have had one of these beauties for 2 years now while driving my truck and not only have I not spilt any coffee from the thing I just brought another one for cooking 2 minute noodles ( put noodles and boiling water in cup.....wait 5 minutes...eat )

You can get them from the Star Mart service stations :)

I did that once and the thing overflowed and spluttered boiling hot frothy coffee-water all over the kitchen. If you try this, I suggest standing nearby with a towel or something just in case.

BTW, I never drink the stuff, only make it for other people. It never seems to work anyways (The Caffine (Spelling)).

Cheers

76857 2002-09-06 02:40:00 Why am I the only person in the world who doesn't actually like coffee?? I know I'm missing out on something - I must be, there's a coffee shop on every corner. :-(

Oh, and Elwin/Sonic or whatever you are, isn't it a bit rich for you to start an off-topic thread - and an unlabelled off-topic one at that - after whining about other people's non-computer related posts? You coffee addicts will probably argue otherwise, but coffee is actually NOT related to computer problems.

I have no objection to this thread, but I do object to hypocrites.
