77121 2002-09-06 20:36:00 I have just found that the cd that comes with my slimcam camera is damaged and would like to save the drivers to a floppy disk for emergencies. Could someone please tell me where in my computer to find them and what the ext. would be Topsie3v (168)
77122 2002-09-06 22:03:00 Why don't you go to the internet site of the camera maker, and see if the drivers are downloadable?

Its quite possible the drivers are "extracted" and installed, and the install file is not on your PC at all. In that case just the drivers alone would not suffice, as the registry keys that are populated or created by the install process would not be present.

77123 2002-09-07 03:20:00 I would go to the internet site for the camera if I could. But the only clue I have as to what site, is the name Meta Media on the front of the cd and on that site there is nothing to help. Any suggestions Topsie3v (168)
77124 2002-09-07 03:36:00 A Google on Meta Media camera gives 39,000 results with this (http://www.mmedia.com.tw/) being the first one. antmannz (28)
77125 2002-09-07 05:28:00 Thanks antmannz,
The 1st one was the only one that was any good and there was nowhere to download the drivers so have emailed them about it. Hope they reply last time I emailed them I never heard back

77126 2002-09-07 05:42:00 When you say the CD is damaged, is it recoverable?

If its scratched its possible to polish it and make it readable.

Use "Brasso" for best results, though I have had success with toothpaste and a soft cloth

77127 2002-09-07 07:14:00 If you need drivers go to Driverguide (http://www.driverguide.com) the user name is drivers and the password is all

77128 2002-09-07 22:19:00 Hi Godfather
I polished the cd as you suggested and managed to view the contents so I have copied the drivers on to another computer for safe keeping. Just hope they work. When I tried to remove the cd got a error message that setup.ini could not be read. Also gotta a blue screen when I opened the cdrom saying that the drive was empty or cd needed cleaning.
Thanks for your help
