2002-09-06 02:13:00 | Yes, I am. And need your expertise. I visited this website www.cococ.com through a link. (from google I think) and at the end of the day I spotted some problems: 1) my computer's property for user and company detail are now both registered to www.cococ.com. 2) the default webpage on my IE6 is set to www.cococ.com now and the "use default", "use blank" function on internet properties are disabled. So I can't change it. 3) automaticly go to cococ.com while startup my computer. The IE open itself and start to dialup (well, i had set an automatic dialup). I didnt' know what to do and the I used the AVG6 virus scanned nothing out of my computer. I need your help. BTW I am using window ME. I had my IE seting to medium security and accept all cookies. Many Thanks

2002-09-06 02:17:00 | You can change your homepage back to whatever by opening IE, and clicking Tools then Internet Options. Checnger you homepage back to what you want, and As for the others, you can goto http://www.rescueman.cjb.net and download Super Rabbit Magic Set, It's a tweaking tool, and it will let you reset your details and stop anything from loading upon boot! | 76925 | 2002-09-06 02:24:00 | You've been hijacked and it may or may not be a simple process to reverse . There's a FAQ on this forum with step by step instructions to try; either click on the FAQ link at the top right of this page and go to FAQ #8b or click here ( . co . nz/thread . jsp?forum=1&thread=21606" target="_blank">pressf1 . co . nz) . Before working through that list though, try going back to the offending site and see if they have an uninstaller to put things back how they were . It's probably unlikely, but you never know . Let us know how you get on .

2002-09-06 06:21:00 | Oh dear... I tried visiting the site but had AVG running with latest updates etc... my windows was all patched as well... result is that it tries to exploit security flaws by running scripts, etc... I would say you're either infected with a virus, or have like a trojan which has modified your registry etc... Anyone have ideas on a trojan killer? I would suggest you first find a good trojan killer and do a full virus and trojan scan... then after that, go here (http:windowsupdate.com) to update and close all the security flaws in your OS (select product updates) ... and finally, don't visit dodgy websites listed through google.com... Hope it helps! Lo.

2002-09-11 01:50:00 | First of all, I apologize for taking so long to reply, having some flatting trouble :( . Anyway, many thanks for all your help. Yes the website cococ.com has an uninstaller but it fix nothing! (is it because I had the cookie deleted and had antivirus insalled!!). 2nd, I follow the faq but my RUN command had disappeared not even in the taskbar menu where you can check "display run command etc". 3rd, System restore fail too!!!! I had enough disk space ,ummmm.... reinstalling window doesn't work . I tried. So what I'll do is reformat the window. Once again I thank you all whom reply to my post. not until this problem happen I found pressf1.co.nz which I think it is more benefit reading than a new window os.

2002-09-11 05:47:00 | Thanks for getting back to us and I'm very sorry to hear that nothing worked. :-( A little tip for you: once you've reformatted and reinstalled everything, follow the instructions in the FAQ for preventing a future hijacking, ie lock your homepage, disable the bits it recommends, etc. It may save a bit of grief another day.
