| 76871 | 2002-09-06 00:24:00 | On start up all Word dox are "locked for edit" How do I prevent this happening & ensure all dox are unlocked at all times? Have tried right click mouse on My Documents & properties & general & clicked Attributes Read Only off but seems to re-set itself Help! |

| 76873 | 2002-09-06 00:41:00 | mmm got me on that one. Are you trying to read the word docs off a CD or have you copied from a CD? If thats the case then the read-only attribute will be set. If you copy docs from the CD onto your HD and then uncheck the Read-Only atrribute you wont have this problem. If this is not it then you may have to explain a bit more about the problem ... happens when you create new documents, only certain files or what? Also how are you opening the files, from within Word or via Explorer. |
