2002-09-07 10:55:00 To be honest, making my own inf probably wouldn't work for me, cause I just remembered why I wanted the driver to start with - to control the refresh rate of the screen, and using the specs we have at the moment, it makes no difference to the refresh rates available - I wanted to find one and test all the refresh rates available for that specific screen.

2002-09-07 11:26:00 Right, control of refresh rate depends on the video card and its driver, rather than the monitor inf file.

But I just found this page (msdn.microsoft.com) at msdn.microsoft.com, about monitor inf files just for interests sake, but couldnt find anything specific for XP.

2002-09-07 11:30:00 Yeah - my video card supports up to a certain refresh rate, but I know that the monitor cannot handle this (I tried it)... XP has an option to select only refresh rates that the monitor can handle, but running off a generic driver means that this option isn't available

2002-09-08 02:44:00 Just a thought ... an Alpha Station would probably have had a version of NT to suit it, so you *might* find something. I think that DEC wanted to catch everyone, not just those who have used VAX/VMS. I know that there is a version of Linux for Alpha, so there just might be some information in that platform too... 77011 2002-09-08 03:04:00 I've just googled again: "NT Alpha" gives 596,000 matches, some of which will be relevant. The first few certainly are, and might be worth pursuing. "Linux Alpha" gives quite a few too. Graham L (2)
